    พี่หนุ่มครับแล้วถ้าเกิดว่า ชาวบ้านเค้าเอาไปปลูกกันเยอะๆ ทุกๆบ้านปลูก แบบนี้ราคาจะตกไหมครับ ถ้าของเยอะกว่าความต้องการ คือผมเห็นอย่างเช่นข้าวโพด ตอนนั้นราคาดี แล้วก็พากันปลูกกันหมด พอของล้นตลาดก็ขายไม่ได้อะครับ พากันมาเทบนถนนสาย 304 เขาปักธงชัยอะครับ
    เราพอจะมีแนวทางป้องกันไม่ให้เกิดขึ้นไหมครับ

    เรื่องข้าวโพดจริง ๆ มีอะไรซับซ้อนอยู่เบื้องหลังอีกเยอะครับ ในเมืองไทยราคาข้าวโพดถูกควบคุมด้วยรายใหญ่สองสามราย อยากให้ราคาเป็นเท่าไหร่ก็ปั่นกันได้ครับ ตอนนี้ทางแถบแพร่ น่าน ลำปาง ภูเขาหลายลูกถูกเปลี่ยนเป็นต้นข้าวโพดหมดครับ ว่ากันว่าถ้าคนไทยปลูกข้าวโพดบนถนนลาดยางได้ป่านนี้ไม่มีทางขับรถขึ้นเขาได้ครับ

    ถ้าเป็นอย่างพี่หนุ่มว่าขายในประเทศเหลือ ก็ส่งออกต่างประเทศครับ ใครคิดจะทำเป็นธุรกิจก็ต้องมองตลาดด้วย บ้านเราปัญหาคือ ระบบเฮครับ ใครทำอะไรก็จะเฮตาม ทำแบบนี้ก็ดีครับจะได้ช่วยชาวบ้านครับ

    นี่คือปัญหาของเกษตรกรเมืองไทย
    คนกลางได้ทั้งขึ้นทั้งล่อง ไม่มีขาดทุน ขายพันธุ์พืช ยา ปุ๋ย รับซื้อ ตั้งราคาเอง หากมีการวางแผนการตลาดเสียหน่อยก็จะรู้ว่า ต้องปลูกเท่าไรตามคำสั่งซื้อในแต่ละปี หากมีพืชพันธุ์ใหม่ๆ ชาวบ้านก็อาจไม่สนใจ เพราะถูกห้ามสนใจ ก็ชาวบ้านเอาเงินพ่อค้าคนกลางไปใช้ก่อนแล้วซื้อรถเครื่อง โทรศัพท์ ทีวีจอยักษ์ เขาจึงกำหนดว่าต้องปลูกอะไร เหมือนตกเขียวข้าวและอ้อย

    ที่กำลังลงแปลงทดลองมาได้หลายเดือนแล้ว ไม่ได้ตัดแต่งพันธุกรรมเลยครับ เป็นการผสมข้ามพันธุ์ระหว่างจุดเด่นของสองสายพันธุ์ โดยนักวิชาการด้านนี้โดยตรง GMO ยังมีปัญหาในหลายประเทศ รวมทั้งประเทศไทย ยังมีคนอีกหลายกลุ่มดีแต่พูด แต่ไม่ทำอะไรเป็นชิ้นเป็นอัน คนแบบนี้มีมากในประเทศไทยเสียด้วย เขาเรียกว่า NATO คือ no action talk only (พวกดีแต่คุย ไม่ยอมทำ)

    เรื่องพืช GMO ผมเคยได้ฟังอาจารย์ที่สอนผมเมื่อสองสามปีก่อนครับ เรื่องมะละกอ GMO และก็อยู่แถวๆบ้านผมขอนแก่นด้วย อำเภอท่าพระ ครับ ศูนย์วิจัยเลย

    อาจารย์บอกว่าเค้าจะนำเอามะละกอเราไปทำ GMO ให้สามารถปลูกได้ผลมากๆต่อ 1 ต้น แต่ข้อเสียไม่ได้บอก
    ข้อเสียคือ พอผลออกครั้งแรก ครั้งต่อไปก็ไม่ออกแล้วครับ สรุป 1 ต้นปลูกแล้วจะได้ผลแค่ 1 ครั้งแต่จะได้เยอะกว่าปกติ แล้วต้นนั้นก็จะไม่ออกผลอีกเลย เมล็ดที่ได้มาจากผลครั้งแรกนั้น ก็จะไม่สามารถนำมาปลูกได้อีกครับ และที่ร้ายที่สุดเมื่อเราไม่มีเมล็ด มะละกอแล้ว เราคงจะต้องซื้อจากเค้าครับผม ตอนนี้ก็ไม่แน่ใจว่าเป็นไงบ้างครับ

    แต่ที่แน่ๆข้าวหอมมะลิเราก็โดนจดสิทธิบัตรเรียบร้อยแล้วครับชื่อว่า Jasmine rice
