    M-CLASS FLARE: Newly-emerging sunspot AR1532 unleashed an M2.7-class solar flare on July 27th at approximately 1726 UT. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured the extreme ultraviolet flash:​

    An M2.7 solar flare occurred on July 27thcaused by what is known as 'sympathetic activity' between sunspot regions 1530 and 1532.

    This event was accompanied by a type II and IV particle shock wave. The type II wave was reported to have an estimated high-speed solar wind of 2099 km/s. This is a speed normally associated with a large X-class flare.

    The estimated high-speed radius of the associated 'halo' CME obtained from the STEREO satellite coronagraph was measured near 500 km/s. Initial analysis suggests the trajectory of this event will not be Earth directed.

    New Region 1533 developed today and was numbered. There were some preliminary observations indicating a new region (not yet numbered) rotating onto the disk in the southern hemisphere, behind Region 1532.

    Note: This is one of the most beautiful, and perhaps meaningful, cmes I have ever seen. I guess one could say a person can see anything they want in a photo. I'm just saying, for me, I see something wonderful. Before I tell what I see, perhaps you can tell me what you see - if anything at all.

    What I can say - this in fact is a unique display of a solar flare and cme. I can also say this is one of the fastest blasts I have ever seen. The average speed for an M-class event is between 400-650+ km/s. This one was estimated to have a speed of 2099 km/s. That is 1,304 per second which = 4,695,329 mph. Now go back and view the Video again and notice the velocity. Amazing!

    M6-CLASS FLARE: Solar activity is picking up. For the second day in a row, sunspot AR1532 has unleashed a moderately-strong solar flare. The latest, an M6-class eruption, occurred on July 28th at 2056 UT. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured the extreme UV flash:​

    It is too soon to say if the eruption produced a coronal mass ejection (CME). If it did, Earth would likely receive no more than a glancing blow from the cloud. The sunspot is too far off disk center to be very geoeffective. This could change in the days ahead, however, as the sunspot turns toward Earth. Stay tuned for updates.     The tree limbs point across the solar disk to sunspot group AR1532, the source of at least one M-class solar flare per day since Friday. NOAA forecasters estimate a 25% chance of additional M-flares during the next 24 hours, although the actual odds seem higher. More flares (and more spotted sunsets) are in the offing.     INCOMING CME, WEAK IMPACT EXPECTED: A coronal mass ejection (CME) produced by Saturday's M6-class flare is heading toward Earth. According to analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab, the cloud could deliver a glancing blow to our planet's magnetic field on July 31st around 1500 UT (+/- 7 hours).     This is a slow-moving CME. The cloud's low speed (382 km/s estimated) combined with its glancing trajectory suggests a weak impact is in the offing. Nevertheless, polar geomagnetic storms are possible when the cloud arrives. Aurora alerts: text, voice.


    The CME will also hit Mercury, probably with greater force. Mercury's planetary magnetic field is only ~10% as strong as Earth's, so Mercury is not well protected from CMEs. When the clouds hit, they can actually scour atoms off Mercury's surface, adding material to Mercury's super-thin atmosphere and comet-like tail.​

    SUBSIDING MAELSTROM: Sunspot AR1532 has been active, producing an M-class flare almost every day since it appeared last Friday. On July 28th, amateur astronomer Viljo Nylund of Finland photographed the maelstrom of hot plasma surrounding the sunspot's dark core:​

    Nylund used an H-alpha telescope tuned to the red glow of solar hydrogen. "The area around AR1532 looked very active and interesting, so I decided to try my luck. I made an inverted version of the image to highlight the 3D feel."​
    The maelstrom might be subsiding. A full day has gone by without a significant flare, and the active region's underlying spotted area is decreasing. NOAA forecasters estimate the chances of an M-class flare today to be 35%. Solar flare alerts: text, voice.

    Solar activity has been at active levels during the past 24 hours, featuring one M1.1 flare from sunspot region 1536 peaking at 15:48 UT on July 30th, and six C flares from regions 1526, 11532 and 11535. C-level flares are expected within the next 48 hours, with a chance for an M-class flare.

    Both C and M-class flares had associated Type II (estimated speeds of 730 and 880 km/s, respectively) and Type IV shock wave along with coronal mass ejections seen off the eastern limb of the Sun.

    Another CME was observed in LASCO C2 imagery off the southwest limb associated with a filament eruption seen in SDO/AIA 171 imagery at 31/0846Z. None of the CMEs are expected to be geoeffective. New Region 1537 rotated onto the northeast limb and was numbered today.

    วันที่ 29 กรกฎาคม 1:47 UTC เกิดพายุสุริยะขนาดใหญ่ มุมกว้างซึ่งมีพลังงานมาส่วนมาที่โลกจากการคำนวณของนาซ่าพบว่าพลังงานจะเดิน ทางเข้ามากระทบโลกในวันที่ 31 กรกฎาคม 18 UTC +/- 7 ชั่วโมง ซึ่งโลกจะมีความเสี่ยงต่อแผ่นดินไหว ปฏิกริยาภูเขาไฟ และยังมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสภาพอากาศ ซึ่งผู้ที่ทำงานด้วยการวางแผนแจ้งเตือนสถานการณ์ฉุกเฉินโปรดติดตามสถานการณ์ อย่างใกล้ชิด update 31 กรกฎาคม ทางเวป solarham ได้ให้ข้อมูลเวลาที่พลังงานนี้จะมาถึงโลกอีกช่วงหนึ่งคือวันที่ 2 สิงหาคม เวลาประมาณ 6 UTC

    New findings suggest a series of current events are weakening the Earth's magnetic field. Above the liquid outer core is the mantle; a solid rock composition which can be moldable due to the intense heat and high pressure. At the boundary between Earth's core and mantle at a depth of 2900 km
    (1,802 miles), there is an intense heat exchange.

    One ongoing process is the shifting of tectonic plates - especially at subduction zones such as Sumatra, Cascadia, and Puerto Rico. This sinking of tectonic plates (Earth's crust) cools the mantle, which in-turn, speeds up the process of "convection". (the transfer of heat by the circulation or movement). Simultaneously, super-heated liquid rocks from the Earth's outer core form large bubbles called 'mantle plumes' which rise into the mantle.

    Paradoxically, as the result of a cooling mantle due to tectonic plate influence, submarine and surface volcanoes, (along with occurrences defined in Part-II) - an accelerated heat flow from the Earth's hot core increases - until the mantle and outer core compensate to its "ambient" (equalized) temperature.

    It is known that Earth's magnetic field is produced by convection currents of an electrically conducting iron-nickel alloy in the liquid core, about 3,000 kilometers (1,864 miles) below Earth's surface. The geomagnetic field is highly variable; there are changes in Earth's magnetic field on a multitude of spatial (space) and temporal (time) scales.

    The study of a slow flowing solid mantle and its symbiotic connection with a hot fast flowing outer core is the central focus as to the cause of Earth's magnetic field weakening.

    CRACKLING SUNSPOT: Newly-numberd sunspot AR1538 is small but active. In an 18-hour period on July 30-31, it popped off more than 15 minor flares. Watch the sunspot crackle in this movie from NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory:​

    The nearly-constant flaring is a sign of tension in the sunspot's magnetic field. It is not, however, a sure-fire sign that a major eruption is in the offing. On the contrary, a large number of minor flares might provide a degree of "magnetic relief" that makes a major eruption less likely.

    The most likely source of a major flare today is sunspot AR1535, located more than 400,000 km north of crackling sunspot AR1538. AR1535 is relatively quiet but has a beta-gamma magnetic field that harbors energy for strong M-class eruptions.Solar flare alerts: text, voice.​
